Identity

My name is Shanice Amanda Brown 'Amoy'. As a child growing up, I never knew why my mother gave me the names she did. I always wanted to change my name because it was so popular. Almost everywhere I went there was a Shanice, Shaniece or whatever the spelling may be. But not until I needed to identify who I was, different from being the daughter of Owen and Jennifer Brown, that girl who's really quiet and stays to herself and that girl who has the potential to do great things but is allowing her fears of not being enough to get in the way. I needed to get closer to God and learn who I am in Him. Then I remembered, All the people in the bible that God used to do His will on Earth was given a certain name for a reason and their roles according to their names. I knew what my name all together means but what are they separately, that when put together I am who God has predestined me to be?
Shanice- Hebrew origin- 'God is merciful'
Amanda- Latin origin- 'having to be loved', 'deserving to be loved', 'worthy of love'
​Amoy- Jamaican origin- 'beautiful goddess'
​So here, A beautiful Goddess who is loved by God and receives his mercy, I'm Shanice- an art enthusiast who is in love with Jesus Christ. My utmost passion is to be of service to others as a giver of love, good vibe and strength. I aim to be inspiratory to those around me as I live a God fearing life being my best self through grace, kindness and humility.
